Chad: How does Jesus heal us?

Live in me

Just have to type this before I forget how it went. Kai and I were talking at lunch about cars…

K: Why do some people only have one car?

A: Like who?

K: Nana

A: Well, Nana lives by herself so she only needs one car.

K: {thinking} if nana lives alone who protects her?

A: Mills (the dog)

K: Mills can’t he’s a dog

A: Well, Jesus is her protector.

K: How?

A: Well, Jesus lives in Nana.

K: How?

A: Because Nana asked Jesus to come live in her. To forgive her for what she has done wrong, to protect her, and to teach her.

K: Can he come live in me?

A: Well, yes. You have to ask him to do it.

K: What do I say?

A: Jesus, I love you. I want you to forgive me and live in my heart.

K: {Thinking….a few bites later} Mom, can you help me pray and ask Jesus to live in me?

A: ABSOLUTELY!

K: Dear Jesus, I love you and I really want you to live in me. I want me to teach me and protect me. Amen.

((((TEARS))))

I can honestly say that I love my baby boys heart for the Lord. I do know, however, he said this with out recognition of his sin. I’m in no way saying this was a salvation experience….just a sweet prayer from a young boy who really loves his Lord and Savior.

Like Dandelion Dust

A few years ago, Chad had the opportunity to work on the film Like Dandelion Dust based on a Karen Kingsbury novel. It was an amazing shoot with some fantastic actors. I’ve never seen my husband work so hard….18-20 hours days at times.

Here is a trailer, it should like to FB. Sorry I can’t embed it.

Now, this film is coming to theaters in September! As with many faith based films, we have to convince local theaters that these are the types of movies we want to see. Right now there are many efforts going on to get this movie in as many cities as possible. Please join us in this effort by signing up and “demanding it.”

Here is the DFW local “demand it” : Click Here

And here is the official website in case you aren’t in my area: CLICK HERE

And just for fun, here are some of my favorite shots from my one month stay in Florida:

(gosh, i could cry remembering these times and seeing how young Kai was **tear** where is time going)

Lead Me

Wow. I heard this song today as I drove home from shopping. I cried. Hard.

As a wife I lean so heavily on my husband. For guidance, love, companionship, just to name a few. I’m so blessed to have a husband that seeks the Lord before anything. I may not always like what he has to say or do, but I know as the head of my house, he has prayed about every step.

I know Chad is fully committed to us and to The Lord and hearing this just touched me that he is such a great leader in my home. I’m so grateful that I have the privilege of being his wife!

Sniff sniff sniff……….

And if you are like me you love the “behind the song”

The Bum

This is a cute clip that the guys on Chad’s last film pulled together… Jared’s comment about Chad “getting back to his roots….as an actor” made me nearly spit out my coffee!

And if you have free time, I LOVE almost every behind the scenes video from this film. I’m not sure I have ever enjoyed behind the scenes as much.

OH, and make sure you check out ACE WONDER!

Fourth of July Weekend

Man, did anyone else feel like this weekend was never going to end?? I guess the fourth being on Sunday and Monday being the “holiday” made this weekend EXTRA long.

On the third Roanoke held their annual celebration/fireworks. Lyndee and I decided we didn’t want to do much. We frequently go to her mom’s and let the kids play outside for hours. We don’t have to entertain….all we do is make sure everyone is fed and happy and we get to sit back and relax. We had talked and both wanted to be able to chill on the 3rd. So, we made and easy menu, blew up the pool and sat back to relax. Of course, we also got drenched in a sudden storm but it was all fun. Our great friends the Miles’ joined us.

After playing at my in-laws, we went up and parked in front of the church, perfectly positioned across the road from the fireworks. I wasn’t sure how the night would go, honestly. First of all, Kenlee is in bed between 6:30 and 7 every night. The fireworks didn’t even START until 9:35. Yikes. I went totally prepared to leave early, but somehow girlfriend pushed through. My other concern was Kai. Kai has never mad it through a fireworks show. We usually end up in the car. The sound really bothers him. But, by the end of it, he didn’t have his hands over his ears….PTL!

By the time is was all over and I was driving home Kai said, “mom, i’m so tired can i just change and get in bed?” ha! I have never heard that from him.

All and all a GREAT day.

Then, on the actual fourth, after church, we headed over to my parents. I love their new backyard. We really cut our night short on the fourth. I think the kids were still so sleep deprived. Kai was asleep by 7:30 and Kenlee 7. Not going to lie, those are great nights!

Guilt

Things I felt guilty over today:

** sleeping through my morning quiet time

** putting my cranky baby back to bed VERY shortly after she woke up (but she did sleep 2 more hours)

** going to the store with no plan and buying $50 of snacky foods that I never buy.

** on the food note, i fed my kids McDonalds just because i didn’t feel like cooking.

** forced my child to eat cream cheese on his bagel. he cried forever and then suddenly polished the bad boy off.

** working on my blog while Kai watched 1.5 hours of Best of Mighty Machines

** that i don’t spend more time educating my preschooler on my own

** not drying my hair.

But you know what’s cool?? Really, none of it matters. It’s so funny how guilty we make ourselves feel over things that really aren’t that bad. So I slept through quiet time, but you know why? Because I had an awesome date with my husband…I made up for it later in the day. On the food front, if I was doing it every day, yeah, it wouldn’t be good. But beating myself up over chex mix, animal crackers, and mcdonalds isn’t worth it…yet i still felt like I needed to confess to my husband. So my kid watched an insane amount of TV but we also played outside and practiced our letters, numbers and measuring.

And come to think of it, the only reason I feel bad about any of those things is because I think others will judge. But, my self worth comes from the Lord. I am totally acceptable before him no matter what my hair looks like. This post isn’t all that random if I would have ever published the post about my latest bible study : The Search for Significance.

Point being: NONE OF IT MATTERS SO ENJOY YOUR DAY!! :)

First Birthday

Since we were in TN for Kenlee’s first birthday we JUST threw her first birthday…..yeah, 6 weeks late. Oh well.

Not gonna lie, it was SUPER last minute. It was just family. And it was just the right length….babies just can’t take all that stimulation!

Swim Lessons

We started out the summer with two weeks of swim lessons with my friend Liz and her daughter, Stella. Kai and Stella are great friends which is great because Liz is one of my dearest friends! Liz also has a daughter two months older than Kenlee. I fully expect them to become friends as well. On the last day of lessons I took my camera. Here are a few pics….

blog

so this blog started out as a way for me to track what was going on in our lives.. somewhere along the way i stopped posting about our everyday stuff. i’ve missed things like starlet starting to walk and stunt boy in swim lessons. instead, i kept feeling like every post i made needed to be something extra special or enlightening. And while I’ll always give praise to the One who deserves it, I still need to record my life. i stopped posting stuff because i felt like it was just rambling and mundane….but hello, its a blog, a journal of sorts, you are allowed to ramble. i was great at it at my old blog…in fact, soon i’m going to import both of my old blogs to this one so i have everything in one place. i realize they have our names throughout but i’m okay with that.
